Browns delight
Decided to end the week on a high note after I found out my wife would be home at a time she normally was not, this allowed me to get into a no cell and further than normal spot known as Browns ranch. Normally its a problem since I need both of those things when Landon is in school so I am on call. I got pedaling with the idea of not glancing at the map on my phone in the mass of trails that it Browns. I did pretty good as I enjoyed a comfortable cruise on my way to the diablo. Turns out I felt pretty lazy and changed my mind and went for an easy out away from diablo and went straight the flow of Hawksnest. Then decided to do something different and ended up on a few trails I never have the best of them being axle grease which was pretty good. I went alot further than I expected and missed a few turns and found myself at the edge of the park. I had options to get back to the car and after a stint along a wash I opted for the powerline road which was 10 minutes of wide dirt road but very effective. Then some singletrack to the car and BAM finally some new meat! Off to greener pastures next week in CT now a week away and excited.

Getting through SOMO
Even less movtivated to ride South Mountain on Tuesday but motivated enough to ride for 90 minutes.
Slow and steady
Off to Monday, really looking forward to getting through this week and getting closer to my CT trip, really excited to mix family and some CT bike riding! I will be on a redline monocog rigid and ss like i like, but I will be taking a beating on those CT trails likely with the technical stuff. No realy bike rental or demo options so I am going for it! I was slow on my ride today, not really feeling it but moving wheels as usual.

Somo on New Balance
Was trying to make it to South Mountain all week but traffic was an issue but on thursday I just went for it. It was bad so I got off and decided to start on warpaint. It was at that time I realized I had on my New Balance shoes, no choice but to rock them I rode into the trails and found them overall pretty darn good, light and strong sole and gripping just fine reminds me I have wayyyyyy too mnay miles on my fivetens and need to treat myself to new ones. Still nice and humid out it was easy riding on a standard loop. I think I mihgt start from that trailhead more often. Nice side of town :)

Wow the desert sure loved the precipitation we have had lately, I am getting very spoled by the mild temperatures and cloud cover I must say so keep it coming and we can wind down as we get closer to winter! Very pretty out there and good riding to boot! Also I hit the 2,000 miles mark, 3,000 here I come, not goal just going to happen anyway......

Desert takes a gulp
As I dosed off last night I awoke shortly to sound pounding rain and thunder, the skies opened up and I went off in the humid morning to see the goods. Trails were shaped and shifted once again, being day 5 in a row of rides the legs are doing just fine, just funny on the stairs. There was water running pretty strong across the trail which is an extremely rare thing, seen it once before with heavy rain, I went for it to find out it was crank deep and got the shoes wet and actually enjoye it. Plan is for a day 6 of riding, lets see what Saturday brings

Fresh Corduroy
After a fresh rain during te night I set off to see what it looks like since we rarely see it, some people call it hero dirt, but it's really not that heroic. I may get more gitty about seing a clean tire at the end of the ride than different dirt, so I am just saying its not very exciting, howvere the dirt in more normal environments hero dirt is very real! The desert not so much....

Mixed Emotional
Well we are back, it was good in Utah, as always not anxious to be back but it will do. The critter starts kinergarten next week so hes with me all week so I picked an early morning to sneak out while my wife was home with the kiddo. I was somewhat excited to ride, it was warm outside and as I began to pedal after 6 days off it felt wonky and the bike was creaking up a storm but things were moving. My minda was a big mess, but I pedaled on and enjoyed the morning ride. In 4 weeks I will be in CT! I am finally going to hit those trails after thinking of them the last 4 years, also going to spend some time with my family ofcourse.
Peace Out
