Mogollon Magic

Woke up at 2am, didn't wan to but did, waited for 3am and then off I went for Payson! Driving up I was surpried with a few flashes on ligthning, and sprinkles of rain. radar showed a few bands of light and heavy rain. Hoping it wasn't too heavy since the Rim goes to heck real quick with wet clay making riding impossible. When I got riding it was still dark, trail was damp and I was really really enjoying how vegatated it was. I started in See Canyon and went east. I hit a few slick spots and clay began to stick, luckily it was spotty and was able to make my climbs and it dried up as I went. When Light came in I was greeted by beeautiful old growth Pine forest. It was truly magicla out there, once the clibming was done, the trail was quite smooth and mellow which was a surprise. Once I reached my turnaround point it was a fun jaunt back to See canyon. First half was done now for the west side, the sun poked through and offered up a majestic view of the rim it was glorious. The next 5 miles were decent, a few nice spots, but nothing compared to the other side. Great ride!
