Back to AZ
Well I had to come back, the cooler weather and rain put me in better spirits but I am struggling as usual.
Straberry Point!
Wow, I used to frequent this area when I moved to Utah 20 years ago. I always said I would have a cabin there over anywhere else and I think I still feel the same. We were making our way back from Utah on our trip and stopped in Bryce and rented a nice cabin for the night. When we arrived I selfishly took the bike out since I knew I could reach Strawberry point and I was in a sour state of mind since vacation was over and going back to my trials in AZ. A nice cool, overcast and windy as a storm was rolling in, I pedaled against the wind and aspens and pines, it was a road but it was magical, I felt so good, I felt like I was home. After 7 miles and 48 minutes I reached my destination and was in awe! I have been here a few times but 15 years will help you forget. I called the family and said they had to come, despite my plan to ride back. They got there and we took it in and then went to dinner! The winter storm rolled in with thunder in the night and snow in the morning. The ride home to AZ was nice, snow, rain and stormy skies.
Schweitzer bike park laps
After thoroughly enjoying our time in Idaho, it was time to head back to our place in Washington where I would be without the bike but on a lake and could go for walks nearby. It was ncie to know the route up the mountain and knew what it took to get to the top, with one last day to be attacked by a bear I was on high alert cuase they're poop was everywhere. Another grunt up the mountain and decided to take a different way down, it was fantastic, not quite as good a terravail, but very good! I was down the mountain in an hour and guess I had enough time to grunt my way up the mountain one more time, thank goodness for those gears! Next run down I took it all in and enjoyed yet another ride down terravail realizing it was definitely the better trail, I wanted to ride some of the others but wasn't convinced they were better but looked alot rougher and I didn't need more risk in my life. It was bliss, fircken love that trail!

Syringa Idaho
After my experince with Scweitzer and the lower basin trails, I was eager to get the Syringa trails. Thirty minutes down the road and more pedal freindly, I was off into the darkness of sunrise and 36F which I loved. It was a confusing netwrok as usual but lots to pick from! back in the pines and in and out of meadows, it was a very ecclectice set of trails with plenty of easy pedaling, like nowhere I have ridden. After a few hours I rode most the trails and off I went complete to start the day.
