Schweitzer Idaho!
After Landing in Washington by 8:30am, we were driving by 10am on a 8 hour journey to Idaho, I picked up a niner air 9 hardtail on the way, it took some effort to find a place to rent from but I pulled it off. Was tempted to get a full suspension but I am cheap and poor so I had the niner for 4 days. When we got to schweitzer it was about dark and ride was going to have to wait until morning. I reviewed the trail map and trailforks and found lots of blue trails I could warm up on. When morning came it was beautiful, the sky was stormy and I was in terrain I have never been in, it was a little of Utah, little of washington and was very unique. With tons of warnings from bears I was spooked in the begining but stayed vigilant. The bike felt crunched and I realized I was way past the max seatpost insertion point, guess I needed a size large, that's a first. However it pedaled well and had gears so it was nice to sit down and spin as I went uphill. I hopped on a few different trails, and found out quickly, that whole section of blues, were just roads......After too much phone and trail maneuvering, I was frustrated, I decided to find my way to the top of the mountain and that was a grind up a road which was fine since it was a heck of a grind. The views were incredible and when at the top some clouds and weather was moving in. Took in the views and dropped into the bike park which I had all to myself. I chose Terraflow, holy moly that was insanely, good, massive amount of berms, jumps and wooden bridges, smooth, flowy it was absolute blast! I could not believe that was up there and had it all to myself, I was reallly really loving Idaho, and vacation!
